Sadly, you’re right. I only need to look around. Too many empty shells, hollow barrels with designer labels stuck to the outside.

I hope I’ll never lose my inner child 🙏

I don't think that's possible. We may only lose sight of it, and let it slip into the unknown. Spirit is omnipresence waiting always to be embraced.

I recently wrote something very similar in my piece "there's a lot of clinging." letting go of who you are without all the identities is an interesting thought experiment.

The internal reference frame we each cultivate to make sense of ourselves and the world is but a description that we form, replete with selective thinking, prejudices and idiosyncratic perspectives. We settle on what is most comfortable and expedient for our personal identity and core relationship models. These are working models, nothing should be set in stone and are subject at all times to review, if we are honest about being authentic, our true selves. The ego is a convenient representation of how we like to see ourselves rather than an exact definition. Either way, it is how we show up through direct contact with the world and ourselves that we are able to meet others with self awareness that reciprocates our commitment to self knowledge and self expression.

I’m giving you a like just for that picture. Will read, too!

"They don’t have your best interests at heart for they don’t even have their own." Nice. Good stuff.
